The Peterborough Junior Spiel History and Pictures.
The Peterborough Junior Spiel started with their first annual spiel on September 13, 14 and 15, 2002. The spiel consisted of 16 Junior Men's and 16 Junior Women's teams. The top eight teams, two from each of the four pools advanced or qualified for the playoffs. All qualifiers received 200.00 dollars and if you made the semi's you received 400.00 and if you were the runners up it was 700.00 and winners were 1200.00...
This year marks the second year of the spiel under the new name "The Derek Whitehill Memorial Junior Cashspiel" in which we have named it after a Peterborough Junior Curler who passed away after a single vehicle automobile accident. Derek was an avid  curler and he lived to have fun and curling fit those qualities for him. He will be remembered by many curlers around the province for many years to come. This year we will also have 4 pools of four and the top two in each pool qualify...The four rock rule is now in full force and we hope to see all of you in September in Peterborough!

Another Year is Fast Approching.
